The fighter smiles as he points the video equipment on himself and his fellow militiamen, their RSF insignia on display: "They shall all die like this."

The men are exulting in a atrocity that humanitarian officials suspect killed in excess of two thousand people in the Sudan's urban center of the Darfur city in recent weeks.

An Urban Center Cut Off from the World
